    didn’t until you mentioned it but the whole mandolin thing just make me love this song on a whole new level, love how converge only really change in tempo album to album, the sound is as raw as ever this and last light from you fail me are benchmarks, for hardcore,sits nicely next to we are the romans by botch (the only other original new skool hardcore)

    jacob will always be a favorite vocalist of mine. the guy has his own unique style that still makes me shiver each time. it always sounds so painful. him and chino moreno and thom yorke are my faves.

    Finally! Someone who understands this album.

    Each instrument is being played in a way to accentuate and benefit the others. A completely selfless performance; each instrument is just as important as the next with non vying for attention.

    On of the most beautiful Converge songs since Heaven In….

    love the album, but jacobs vocals (probably because of the mixing) dont feel like such a punch in the face as, say, on eagles become vultures. still, awesome.

    I actually like the fact that everything is evenly mixed. Many other bands similar to Converge lose a lot of their effect because the vocals over power the actual music.

    With Axe To Fall everything flows together. It’s great because no one element is competing with another… one of the many things which makes a great album an amazing album.

    Now matter how scratching vocals Jacob has (somehow, awesome and original), his voice is too quiet. I’d master it the other way.
