How do I download movies onto my iPod Touch?

I have a movie on my iTunes I want to download which was put onto my computer a while ago not through iTunes and it won’t sync onto my iPod. I have a YouTube video (I converted it to suit iTunes) and an episode of a show on my iPod already, which was bought off iTunes. How can I put this movie onto my iPod? It is about 700 MB in size, is that OK?
